Hello! We ship everyday. On US Federal Holidays no mail moves - you *may* see a label print, but it will leave the next mailing day.

Here is our detailed shipping policy.

Please keep shipping insurance (Package Protection) in your cart. If you take it out, you will have to file your own claim with USPS or UPS. 

PRE ORDERS ship as stated in the listing -- usually these take some time to arrive. IF YOU COMBINE in stock items with a preorder they will ship TOGETHER at one time. 

We do NOT cover import fees or duties if shipping out of the USA. Tariffs/duties have NOTHING to do with our company, we have no control over them. 

Tracking info is ALWAYS sent by email as soon as the label is printed. Check your junk or promotions folders; it could have landed in one of them. 

Free shipping is offered for domestic customers, on orders over $125. This is a ONE TIME ORDER offer.

Sew a roomy, polished crossbody with the Madison Bag PDF sewing pattern from Sew Hungry Hippie. Designed specifically for cork and vinyl, this structured handbag pattern uses minimal interfacing and replaces a traditional gusset with easy boxed corners.

The Madison Bag combines practical storage with a clean silhouette. Multiple exterior and interior pockets keep everyday essentials organized, while the recessed zipper helps secure the main compartment.

  • Large exterior zipper pocket made with an easy construction method

Finished bag size

Approximately 12 in. wide × 9 in. high × 4.5 in. deep.

Materials needed

  • 1 roll Sew Hungry Hippie vinyl (18 × 56 in.) or 2 rolls Sew Hungry Hippie cork
  • 1 yard fusible woven interfacing
  • One 12 in. square of WPC
  • 3/4 yard quilting cotton for the lining
  • 46 in. of #5 nylon zipper tape and 3 zipper pulls
  • Two 1.5 in. D-rings
  • One 1.5 in. adjustable strap buckle

Recommended bag-making tools

For easier sewing and a polished result, keep a Teflon non-stick sewing foot, Teflon pressing sheet, Chrome Microtex needles, nylon mallet, double-sided sticky tape, an iron, and an Easy Point & Press tool handy.

I have watched many of your you tubes so when made middle size felt we were doing it together...looking forward to making purse size using tapestry fabric i have....I do wish you had a canada site to order cork etc from....keep up you tubes....you never make us feel we don't know what we are doing...have a great 2026...

Great pattern that’s easy to read but the tutorial even better

What a beautiful bag. I’ve only had time to cut out the cork but have gone through the tutorial, which like all the SHH YouTube videos I’ve watched (and that’s a lot!!) it really helped to understand the different steps.. can’t wait to get time to finish it! Thank you Natalie and the team.

You can make in cork or vinyl. Beautiful bag either way. Very comfortable to carry.
