Orders and Shipping

When will my order ship?

We ship Monday–Friday. Check the homepage for the current time from order placement to shipment: it can vary from 24 hours to 7 days depending on the time of year. Most orders are processed within 72 hours unless a preorder is holding them up. This is a family business, and we appreciate your patience.

There are no mail runs on federal holidays. Processing time is separate from delivery time.

Why hasn't my order been processed?

Check your order email to see whether a preorder item is holding it up. If you need help, email help@sewhungryhippie.com.

Where can I find my tracking information?

We always send tracking information by email. Check your junk, spam, and promotions folders if you don't see it.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship worldwide. The website provides an estimated shipping cost, which is usually correct. YES it costs a lot to ship internationally.

Postage costs calculate according to weight. If you fill your cart, you will see the cost.

Sewing with Vinyl and Faux Leather

What's the difference between faux leather and vinyl?

In our shop, we use these terms for the same material.

Is this heat-transfer vinyl?

No. Our vinyl is for sewing projects, not heat transfer.

Can I order different-sized cuts of vinyl?

Our vinyl is cut and packaged at the factory. Our scrap packs include pieces in multiple sizes.

Can I sew, embroider, or quilt this vinyl?

Yes, you can sew and embroider this vinyl! You can also quilt the Soft Vinyl Collection and Moonglow collection easily.

What sewing tools should I use?

Use a Teflon sewing foot, good-quality poly-blend thread, and the correct needle for your material. See my Free Guide to Sewing Vinyl for more tips.

I host weekly live events on my website here, my Facebook page and my YouTube channel, often making vinyl and cork projects. You can watch the replays anytime.

Sewing Patterns, Tutorials, and Classes

Do you have free patterns and tutorials?

Yes, lots! Browse my free sewing tutorials on the blog and subscribe to my YouTube channel for video tutorials and walkthroughs.

Can I teach your pattern in a class at my local quilt shop?

YES! Please have each student purchase a copy of the pattern, copying is illegal. Please help support Creative Intelligence.

Do you travel to teach or do trunk shows?

Sorry, no, I don't at this time.

Do you have a newsletter with offers?

Yes! Sign up for our weekly email to receive special offers.

VIP Club Membership

How do I join the VIP Club?

Join the VIP Club here. This is an annual OR monthly membership with TONS of perks! We'd love to have you. Most VIP Members "make their money back" in 1 to 2 orders.

VIP Members have several Free Shipping days throughout the year with no minimums.

How do I get my VIP discount?

PLEASE MAKE SURE to be logged in so the automatic discount applies.

VIP Members must be logged in to your store account with the same email you purchased your VIP Club membership with. We cannot change this after sign up.

How does membership renewal and cancellation work?

You can cancel at any time, but there are no refunds. Cancellation occurs at the next scheduled renewal date.

This club auto-renews unless you opt out, cancel, or pause.

Wholesale Orders

How do I apply for a wholesale account?

You can shop wholesale at my Faire shop here.

Returns and Customer Support

How do I contact you?

I want you to be happy! I stand by my products, and it is always worth an email if you have an issue.

Please give us 48 business hours to respond.

Are digital purchases refundable?

PDF or any digital sale of any kind is not refundable due to the digital nature of the product. This includes pdf patterns, digital courses, and memberships.

How do I return an unused item?

Returns accepted within 14 days of receiving for unused items in original condition. Please email help@sewhungryhippie.com with "return" in subject line.

If there is no mistake on our end, shipping is at your expense.

Is there a fee for cancelled orders?

Cancelled orders incur a 10% restocking fee. This is to cover our fees incurred when processing your payment method, refunding fees, and other admin expenses.

What happens if I opt out of Package Protection?

IF you choose to opt out of Package Protection, we are not covering loss or damage. You will have to file your own postal insurance claim.

Payments and Privacy

Where can I read your privacy policy?

Read our Privacy Policy.

WE DO NOT STORE sensitive information on our server, such as CC information. We will never ask you for your password.

Can you add items to my order?

We cannot "add to orders" without sending you an additional invoice - if you don't pay it, your order will not ship. Editing orders will absolutely cause a delay on your shipment.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Paypal, and shop pay. Sorry we do not accept American Express.

Shop Pay Installments information

Rates from 0-36% APR. Payment options through Shop Pay Installments are subject to an eligibility check and are provided by these lending partners: affirm.com/lenders. Options depend on your purchase amount, and a down payment may be required. State notices to consumers: affirm.com/licenses.

If you finance your purchase with Affirm, your first payment is due approximately two weeks after your purchase is finalized. Please note that due to extended delivery times, your loan payment(s) may be due before you receive your purchase.

Vinyl Rating Information

Our vinyl has the highest eco-friendly rating available for production.

Many materials now days have ingredients in them that fall under Proposition 65, and pvc is one of them.
