Shipping & Returns

Hello! We ship everyday and some Saturdays. On US Federal Holidays no mail moves - you *may* see a label print, but it will leave the next mailing day. If we take a short break for vacation, it is announced ahead of time on all social media channels and in the newsletter. Are you signed up for my emails? They often contain treasures!  

Please keep shipping insurance (Package Protection) in your cart. If you take it out, you will have to file your own claim with USPS or UPS. While mistakes with the Carriers are rare, they do happen and it's best to have full coverage. We are NOT responsible nor will we replace lost shipments if you opt out of this coverage.

PRE ORDERS ship as stated in the listing -- usually these take some time to arrive. IF YOU COMBINE in stock items with a preorder they will ship TOGETHER at one time. Make a separate order if you need in-stock items sooner. Thanks!!

We DO ship to most European countries, also Australia and New Zealand through USPS or UPS if you choose it. We do NOT cover import fees or duties.

Canadian shipping is closed for now, due to tariffs and customer complaints over duties. Tariffs/duties have NOTHING to do with our company, we have no control over them. 

Tracking info is ALWAYS sent by email as soon as the label is printed. Check your junk or promotions folders; it could have landed in one of them. After the initial tracking entry when the label is printed, additional tracking updates are provided by the carrier. Follow the tracking link you received by email to check the status on the carrier's site.

Free shipping is offered for domestic customers, on orders over $125. This is a ONE TIME ORDER offer. We are not refunding shipping on combined or merged orders if made outside a 7 day window.

Product Description

This digital video course will walk you through sewing the Jill Tunic. 

The Jill Tunic is a flowy, hippie, comfy tunic pattern made for all levels of Sewists. It has lots of ease but doesn't look sloppy. Amazing! We've made this in an inclusive size range from XS to XXXL, but due to its ease, it can work for sizes outside of that range as well.

This sewing pattern has 4 pieces (sleeve, front bodice, back bodice, and bottom panel). The sleeve is slightly belled, and lands just past the elbow. This is easily shortened if you prefer. The empire-ish bodice hides tummies and is super comfy. 

You will need to purchase the pattern separately. The printed pattern is here, with full size pattern pieces included. 

Or you can purchase the PDF pattern for an AO paper file here (you will need to take the PDF to a print shop).

Jill was inspired by my friend Jill. She asked me to reconstruct a fave top she owned, and so I did. It took me months and months, lots of testing, teaching a class, and more, to bring it to you here. 

Please do not be scared if you've never sewn a garment before. Most of the fear is from a fear the garment won't be perfect. Let me break it to you - it won't be perfect!!! I've been sewing garments forever, and none of mine are "PERFECT." It doesn't matter- they are good enough to wear, nobody notices booboos, and I feel happy in them. Stop being so hard on yourself, and just go for it!

Please make a toile to check fit before cutting into expensive fabric.

PLEASE wash your fabrics and dry them before cutting out the pattern.

Fabrics recommended:

RAYON

RAYON BLENDS like Brussels Washer

LINEN

Lawn and Voile will work but will stand out from the body as they are light and airy rather than drapey.

Stable knits are good too, but make a toile first as the sizing "could" change for you.

I don't recommend quilting cotton unless you want to look like a tent.

Sizes:

XS-XXXL  This covers size 0 (off the rack) to 32.

2 yards of fabric are required; 3 yards is safer.

You do not need a serger to sew clothes. Use your home sewing machine with a zig zag stitch or a straight stitch, cut out the fabric with pinking shears, and just do it.

This is a great tutorial! Natalie goes thru it step by step, so if you are a beginner sewist, this makes the Jill an easy sew. I have been sewing for a long time and I picked up some new tips . I would recommend to any sewing level. Natalie is the best teacher!

I loved the course … I have some experience in garment sewing, but it was so long ago, I didn’t realize how much I had forgotten. I haven’t actually sewn the tunic yet, but when I get all my stuff together, I will watch it again, Natalie goes over everything in great detail, and makes it a fun project to sew; it’s like sewing with your best friend. Well worth the watch …. Thanks Natalie … oh, I will make more than one !
