Product Description
Sew this hat with me! This video walks you through making the Bardot Bucket Hat.
The Bardot is reversible, packable for travel, giftable, easy to sew, a scrap buster, quick, customizable, and provides a fun way to show your personality!
Lifetime access to the video is included - simply log in to your account to view any courses purchased.
The PDF pattern is included in this course.
The Bardot has 4 size options (S,M,L, Doll or Pug size LOL) and 3 Brim Size options - traditional or small brim, medium brim, and an extra wide brim with lots of coverage.
Small brim measures 3" (standard bucket hat look - see Clovis in photo 2)
Med brim measures 5" (I'm wearing this in a photo-you can't see my face as I'm looking down)
Extra Wide brim measures 7" (Cover Girl Kim is wearing this one in red)
Pug size / Doll size brim is tiny so our furry babies can see where they are going. I did add elastic (1/4" width) to the hat so it will stay on Tori. See photo 6.
*The "regular size" will fit most heads - if you think you might need a smaller hat, try the small size hat. If you usually need more room for your giant brain or poofy hair, try the large-size hat. This is the joy of sewing amiright? We get to make things that fit our bodies. No pressures, & no squeezies.
2/10/24 UPDATE: BONUS video added. Make a Shannon Cuddle hat, start to finish!
FABRICS: Make it with quilting cotton, broadcloth, linen, chambray, lightweight canvas, or even lightweight denim! Make it wild and funky or classic, the choice is yours! My soft vinyl collection will work too, no joke!
Materials required:
1/2 yard exterior fabric - extra wide brim requires 3/4 yard
1/2 yard lining fabric - extra wide brim requires 3/4 yard
1 & 3/4 yard SF101 for all sizes of hat and brims or 2 yards if you like more room for placement
1/2 yard fusible fleece (Pellon 987F) or similar
Pattern pieces need to be printed at 100% - DO NOT SCALE and do not "fit to page".
AO files are included in this course for those with projectors.

I love the Bardot Bucket hat. I purchased the video to go along with the paper pattern because I appreciate Natalie’s tips and tricks and this video did not disappoint. I made one for myself and plan to make more as gifts.
I absolutely love the Bardot! I made the regular size with the medium brim and I am in love! The tutorial was great as always! Instructions easy to follow. I will be making more! ❤️
This video walks you through every step in detail and Natalie provides tips based on her vast sewing experience, knowledge, and talent. I enjoy her videos and will continue to watch them and purchase them when available. Thank you for a wonderful product!!!!!
This pattern, and Natalie’s helpful tutorial have made the Bardot Hat my most favourite pattern ever! It is simple to cut out and put together and the result is amazing! I will be making lots, including the leopard winter version- being the bonus in the tutorial. Thanks Natalie
Rest tutorial that covers every.single.step - from how to cut out the pattern to little tips that you’ll use in all your sewing, not just for the Bardot Bucket Hat. The pattern itself was a vety quick, simple design that looks great on! Made one for an upcoming vacation, and can’t wait to whip up a few more for myself and my friends/family. Thanks for giving a new request the confidence to make something cool! Cant wait to start another SHH design - onto the tunic!
I gave it to three cause I haven’t used it yet, but I have read the pattern in the directions and they seem very easy to follow. After I get these baby blankets for Linus Project completed the hat is next will try and remember to post pictures at that time.
I haven’t done it yet. I just downloaded it.
I loved the class and my hat came out wonderful!
Fun and easy hat to make! So many possibilities and looks🥰
Great pattern. The directions and video weren't easy to follow!
The pattern is great, easy to follow, instructions. I haven’t made the hat yet,but I will be soon. Thank you
Sewed up this hat in medium and it fit great. Easy to sew. Directions were easy to follow. Will make a few more.
I made the regular hat with a medium brim. It's a big large for me but fits my hubby perfectly! I'll sew with a larger seam allowance for the next hat. Hubby now has put in multiple requests and modifications--straps, velcro to keep front brim up when needed during fishing, etc. This is a great pattern and the video tutorial is ON SPOT with instructions and demonstrating what to do. My daughter, who normally doesn't wear hats, has picked out fabric for three hats to correspond with her wardrobe. Bottom line: WINNER WINNER
I’m so glad I jumped on the Bardot Bucket Hat Bandwagon! I purchased the pattern and course and was thrilled with both. Natalie makes sewing this awesome hat so easy through her detailed course. The pattern comes in three sizes hat sizes and three brim sizes. It is so well proportioned!!
So much choice! You’ll love it!!
I have wanted a pattern for this type of Hat for a long time. Love the pattern and video course, I'm a visual learner. I have 5 already.
What a great and informative course to pair with another fab pattern!
This is sew easy and fun to make. After I made one for myself my husband and daughter both asked for one as well. Those 3 were regular size and medium brim. Great for sitting in the sun. My friend is losing her hair from chemo therapy treatments and doesn't like wigs, so I made her a nice floral one with the smaller brim. She loves it, so I made her one in solid neutral colors so it will match more outfits. The ease of the pattern enables me to make as many as she wants :)
I’m super busy with life right now and took a morning off to take this class. What I liked about the class mist was that Natalie helps calm down self judgement and self doubt. The cues about relaxing and having fun make a huge difference! I have a new sewing machine that intimidates me and I’m learning to makes friends with accomplishments with my machine, fabric and patterns. Awesome instructor and I’d buy another class from her in the future . Muah!
This is such a fun and easy sew! The written instructions were great, but I really enjoyed the video. Natalie is such an upbeat and fun instructor. I did 3 hats because when my husband and daughter saw mine they each wanted one. The regular brim is perfect for the pool or sitting just sitting in the sun. The small brim doesn’t cover as much of my face, but I love the way it looks on me. Well worth the money.
I purchased your pattern at a local fabric store, SEW MUCH FUN, Lowell, NC. I have completed all the steps through #5. I’ve never made a hat before and am a visual learner, I am a little confused when it comes to steps 6 through 8. I would like to access the video that’s mentioned in the pattern. Do I need to pay a fee to do so? I appreciate any help you can provide. Thank You!

I purchased the course, and the description say the PDF pattern is included. I don't see where I can download the pattern. Could you help me with this?

Actually yes, it is correct! :D
