If you've been eyeing cork fabric but haven't quite worked up the courage to sew with it yet, you're not alone!
The Fogerty Cross-Body Bag was originally featured as our February 2026 Hippie Makers Club pattern, and it quickly became a favorite for good reason. It's beginner-friendly, comes together beautifully, and is just the right size for everyday adventures.
One of my favorite things about the Fogerty is how versatile it is. Whether you choose cork, canvas, vinyl, faux suede, or your favorite quilting cotton, the simple design lets your fabrics and hardware do all the talking. Every version has its own personality, and no two bags are ever quite the same.
Today, I'm excited to share seven gorgeous Fogerty bags made by members of our maker community. I hope they spark a few ideas for your own project and remind you that sometimes all it takes is one pattern to build your confidence and fall in love with sewing bags.

The Fogerty is one of those patterns that's fun to sew, whether it's your very first bag or your fiftieth. The instructions are easy to follow, the construction is straightforward, and the finished bag looks polished and professional.
What really makes this pattern special is how easily you can make it your own. Swap in a sleek metallic vinyl, a favorite canvas print, or colorful vinyl. Add unique hardware, playful lining fabrics, or a coordinating strap, and suddenly you've created a bag that's completely your style.
That's exactly why the Fogerty has become such a favorite in our community—it's simple enough to build confidence, yet versatile enough that you'll want to make it again and again.
