Shipping & Returns

Hello! We ship everday and some Saturdays. On US Federal Holidays no mail moves - you *may* see a label print, but it will leave the next mailing day. If we take a short break for vacation, it is announced ahead of time on all social media channels and in the newsletter. Are you signed up for my emails? They often contain treasures!  

Please keep shipping insurance (Package Protection) in your cart. If you take it out, you will have to file your own claim with USPS or UPS. While mistakes with the Carriers are rare, they do happen and it's best to have full coverage.

PRE ORDERS ship as stated in the listing -- usually these take some time to arrive. IF YOU COMBINE in stock items with a preorder they will ship TOGETHER at one time. Make a separate order if you need in-stock items sooner. Thanks!!

We DO ship to Canada & most other European countries, also Australia and New Zealand through USPS or UPS if you choose it. We do NOT cover import fees. 

Tracking info is ALWAYS sent by email as soon as the label is printed. Check your junk or promotions folders; it could have landed in one of them. After the initial tracking entry when the label is printed, additional tracking updates are provided by the carrier. Follow the tracking link you received by email to check the status on the carrier's site.
Free shipping is offered for domestic customers, on orders over $125.

Our mail system is pretty amazing when compared to the rest of the world and we are so grateful to the Carriers that make it happen! 

Vinyl is usually rolled and either wrapped in tissue or a protective bag, and sent that way. Some vinyl (soft metallic and moonglow for example) can be folded without causing damage, you can opt to iron it from the back side as well.  In any case, if your vinyl arrives with wrinkles you can simply place it in the sunshine OR use a hair dryer to warm it flat again, or iron it (wrong side only). If you think your vinyl is damaged, please email me and I will take care of you. 😊

**Soft metallic vinyl, Stardust, croc, and Moonglow vinyl CAN be ironed from the wrong side. See my Guide for Sewing Vinyl for more info.

Returns are accepted for damaged items and we will send you a return label. Returns for "changing your mind" are accepted at YOUR return shipping expense, and will be processed with a restocking fee of 10%

MARCH 8+9 Teresa Coates is coming to SHH HQ to teach us how to make the Elemental Coat - a quilt coat with LOTS of options.

This coat can be made with a previously loved quilt, newly quilted sections as per the pattern, or quilting cotton fabric, linen, jacquard, dobby cloth, etc...

From Teresa: "The pattern was designed to be simple enough for a beginner sewist or quilter to make, but with plenty of room for more experienced sewists to put their own spin on it. All the seams are fairly straight, there are no fancy stitching techniques (though I do include a few construction techniques that might surprise you!), and it’s finished with a simple quarter-inch binding to make it extra easy for the quilters in the house."

One of my favorite aspects is how customizable it is. You truly get to choose exactly the features you want!

What you will need to bring to class:

  • a good working sewing machine that YOU are familiar with (this is not a class for total beginners new to sewing)
  • your quilt or fabric (purchase at SHH ahead of time if need be)
  • usual sewing tools (We will provide irons, cutting mats, and tables/chairs.)
  • a good attitude and a "can-do" spirit

Lunch and snacks will be provided for both days. Each student will receive a goody bag and a shopping discount card for the weekend.

 

This pattern is not included in the class cost; please purchase it separately. 

Water bottles are encouraged - we have a water tank here with distilled, triple filtered H2O. We will also have coffee and tea at all times, along with treats by Gigi's Bakery.

Wear what you are comfortable sewing in. There is no need to impress anyone. This is a private class, and we limit the number of students to ensure everyone has the attention they need. Teresa, Hawke, Natalie, and Vicki will be on-site the entire weekend.

Cancellations are not accepted - please clear your calendar to attend class. If you are unable to attend, please find a replacement student to fill your space. Once filled, we will refund your class cost.

Class is from 9 am to 4pm. You are welcome to leave early if you wish. We have 3 bathrooms on site, wheelchair accessible. Tables, chairs, irons, and cutting mats will be provided. Please bring your machine and usual sewing tools. Put your name on your tools - we cannot be held responsible for lost items.
