Your Next Favorite Tote—Fast & Fun to Sew!
Some days, you just need a quick, satisfying make. That’s exactly how this Easy Shopper Tote came to life!
I wasn’t feeling great—low energy, time moving too fast—so I needed something quick and fun to sew. Enter: the Easy Shopper Tote. If you caught my live sew-along with Janome (a year or two ago!), you might remember the original.
This time, I made a simple tweak: ✨
Added foam interfacing for extra structure so the tote stands up on its own.
It’s still the same easy-to-sew design, now with a more polished, sturdy finish.
A Must-Know Sewing Tip!
For a crisp, professional finish, I always include interfacing in my seam allowances. Unlike some methods that trim it away, I leave it in—this keeps the edges sharp and structured, not floppy.
💡 Bonus Tip: If sewing through foam feels tricky, try this:
- Use a walking foot to help layers move evenly
- Zigzag stitch along the foam’s edge to compress it
- Or grab a nylon mallet to flatten seams (yes, hammering fabric—it works!)
